EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND CANCELLED CLASSES
Extracurricular Rambler activities (e.g., tournaments, volunteer events) held during scheduled class times are considered classes. Belt testing sessions, Rambler student ceremonies, and other Rambler events are also part of the curriculum. Cancelled classes will be addressed separately.

Special Event: Black-Belt Test Day (September 22, 2018)
Who: First-Black-Belt Rambler student Adrian H. Seemangal.
What: Black-Belt Testing Day.
When: Saturday, September 22--10:00 a.m. until it is finished. All youth and adult tae kwon do classes will be cancelled. All Rambler students are expected to come to watch this special event and support Mr. Seemangal on this momentous occasion.

Mount Rainier Multicultural Festival and Health Fair (September 29, 2018)
Who: Mount Rainier Nature and Recreation Center.
What: Multicultural Festival and Health Fair. Free family event! International food and crafts for sale. Live international performances. School supply give-away--donations accepted.
When: Saturday, September 29--1:00 - 6:00 p.m. The Tae Kwon Do Ramblers are scheduled to perform at 2:00 p.m. Morning youth classes will be held; adults should arrive at noon for their class, which will end at 1:00 p.m.

Who: The Port Towns: Bladensburg, Colmar Manor, Cottage City, and Edmonston, Maryland.
What: Tae Kwon Do Ramblers Students' Martial Arts Demonstration at Port Towns Day.
When: Saturday, October 6--12:00 - 7:00 p.m. The Tae Kwon Do Ramblers are scheduled to perform from 2:00 - 2:15 p.m. All youth and adult tae kwon do classes will be held.

17th Annual Kombat Klassic Martial Arts Tournament (October 27, 2018)
Who: Kyoshi Steve Tolson and Tolson's Okinawan Karate.
What: All youth and adult students are invited to participate in this tournament that we attend each year. Dr. Thomas urges all students to come out to support the Rambler family and rally around the youth and adult students who are able to participate. The tournament day is considered a class day for Rambler students.
When: Saturday, October 27 - 8:00 a.m. registration; competition begins at 10:00 a.m.

Ramblers' Second Annual Invitational Martial Arts Tournament (TO BE RESCHEDULED FOR EARLY 2019)
Who: Tae Kwon Do Ramblers Self-Defense Systems/We Lead By Example, Inc.
What: Second Annual Invitational Martial Arts Tournament. Competition for youth of all ages (18 and under) in weapons, katas, and sparring. Food and beverages will be sold at the event. Safety equipment is required--no excuses. No coaching!
April 7 (TO BE RESCHEDULED)--9:00 a.m. registration; 10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. competition. The tournament will take place at Bladensburg Community Center, 4500 57th Avenue, Bladensburg, Maryland 20710.
Registration: Competitors--$40 (inclusive of all categories of competition). Spectators--$10 for adults and children; $5 for children five years and under. Adult black belts are expected to pay the spectator fee unless they serve as judges in the rings. Rambler competitors should see Ms. McCutchen to pre-register. Competitors from invited schools who wish to pre-register should mail a certified check or money order (payable to We Lead By Example, Inc.) to Ms. Susan McCutchen, 5404 Spring Road, Bladensburg, Maryland 20710. Cash, money order, and credit card payments will be accepted on the day of the event.
