EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND CANCELLED CLASSES
Extracurricular Rambler activities (e.g., tournaments, volunteer events) held during scheduled class times are considered classes. Belt testing sessions, Rambler student ceremonies, and other Rambler events are also part of the curriculum. Cancelled classes will be addressed separately.

23rd Annual Port Towns Day (September 21, 2019)
Who: Port Towns: Bladensburg, Colmar Manor, Cottage City, and Edmonston, Maryland.
What: This annual event celebrates the Port Towns with fun, food, vendors, information tables, and performers. The Tae Kwon Do Ramblers will perform on the Pavilion Stage at 1:30 p.m. All youth classes will be held. The adult class will be cancelled.
When/Where: Saturday, September 21--12:00 - 6:00 p.m., at Bladensburg Waterfront Park, 4601 Annapolis Road, Bladensburg, Maryland 20710 [between the railroad crossing overpass and Peace Cross]. The rain date is October 5, 2019.

Mount Rainier Multicultural Festival and Health Fair (September 28, 2019)
Who: M-NCPPC Mount Rainier Multicultural Festival and Health Fair, Maryland.
What: Multicultural Festival and Health Fair. Free family event! International food and crafts for sale. Live international music performances. The Tae Kwo Do Ramblers are scheduled to perform at 2:30 p.m. All youth classes will be held. The adult class will be cancelled.
When/Where: Saturday, September 28--1:00 - 6:00 p.m., at Mount Rainier Nature & Recreation Center, 4701 31st Place, Mount Rainier, Maryland 20712.

Fifth Annual Walk and Rally for Bullying Prevention and Child Safety (October 5, 2019)
Who: We Lead By Example, Inc./Tae Kwon Do Ramblers Self-Defense Systems in partnership with M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation Northern Area.
What: Fifth Annual Walk and Rally for Bullying Prevention and Child Safety. Bladensburg Police escort for the walk, led by Mayor Takisha James. Refreshments provided by Wegmans (Woodmore Town Centre).
When/Where: Saturday, October 5--9:30 - 11:30 a.m. walk; 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. rally. The walk begins/ends and the rally takes place at the Bladensburg Community Center, Bladensburg, Maryland 20710. This important Rambler community partnership event is part of the curriculum and is considered a class day for all students.

Senior Safety and Self-Defense Seminar (October 9, 2019)
Who: We Lead By Example, Inc./Tae Kwon Do Ramblers Self-Defense Systems.
What: Senior Safety and Self-Defense Seminar provided by Dr. Thomas and adult students.
When/Where: Tuesday, October 9--11:45 a.m., at The People's Community Baptist Church, 31 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, Maryland.

19th Annual Kombat Klassic Martial Arts Tournament (October 26, 2019)
Who: Kyoshi Steve Tolson and Tolson's Okinawan Karate.
What: All youth and adult students are invited to participate in this tournament that we attend each year. Dr. Thomas urges all students to come out to support the Rambler family and rally around the youth and adult students who are able to participate. Participation in this event is part of the curriculum and is considered a class day for all students.
When/Where: Saturday, October 26--8:00 a.m. registration; competition begins at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Gospel Church Gymnasium, 11150 Berry Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20603

Ramblers' Second Annual Invitational Martial Arts Tournament (TO BE SCHEDULED IN 2020)
Who: Tae Kwon Do Ramblers Self-Defense Systems/We Lead By Example, Inc.
What: Second Annual Invitational Martial Arts Tournament. Competition for youth of all ages (18 and under) in weapons, katas, and sparring. Food and beverages will be sold at the event. Safety equipment is required--no excuses. No coaching!
When/Where: Saturday, TO BE SCHEDULED--9:00 a.m. registration; 10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. competition. The tournament will take place at Bladensburg Community Center, 4500 57th Avenue, Bladensburg, Maryland 20710.
Registration: Competitors: $50. Black-belt competition restricted to youth 18 and under. Spectators: $10. Children: $5 (age 5 and above); FREE for children under age 5. Rambler competitors should see Ms. McCutchen to pre-register. Competitors from invited schools who wish to pre-register should mail a certified check or money order (payable to We Lead By Example, Inc.) to Ms. Susan McCutchen, 5404 Spring Road, Bladensburg, Maryland 20710. Cash, money order, and credit card payments will be accepted on the day of the event.
